We had a busy Labor Day weekend. We had Ryan's parents over Saturday night for a thank you dinner since they helped us through some hard times, which are finally over. We gave them a digital camera so that Ryan's mom could have something to take pictures with on her impending trip. Then on Sunday night, we had the Teskas and Geoffrey over. The boys installed our daughter's pink ceiling fan, and we girls scrapbooked- as usual. Kristin is one of my very very best friends, and she and her husband, Evan are expecting twins. They are due in March/April. This means that my daughter will only be five or six months older than the twins. Kristin and I are hoping that she has a boy and girl. A boyfriend and a best friend for my daughter. :o) We already have visions of ballet lessons together- with Ryan and Evan dancing with the girls in the Father-Daugther dances during the recitals. :o) Here's a picture of us and our THREE babies. Kristin has 7 weeks in, and I have 7 weeks left to go.

On Monday night (tonight), we had MY family over for dinner. We invited our little niece pup, Dagne, to come along too. Here she is meeting Ella for the first time. They got along pretty well- although we were all a little worried Ella would hurt Dagne on accident by stepping on her. They ran laps around each other in the backyard- and it made me so happy to finally HAVE a backyard for my dog and kids to play in.
Here is Ryan's new obsession: a Praying Mantis that we found in our front yard. It's hanging out on our cool spiral white spruce tree. (This is anal Ryan telling me what to write). The men (and Lyn-Marie) in my family decided to sit and watch this thing for about twenty minutes because they were dying to see it eat that grasshopper that it's looking at. No such luck. Apparently we have the nicest Praying Mantis in existence.
